This rare plate circa 1885, is a reminder of Victoria’s most popular bootery, Leeming’s Boot Store which was founded in 1985 by William Leeming who arrived from Yorkshire in 1853.

The quirky character known as “Gazeeka” (a winged frog or goblin) is one of the most significant characters in the history of Australian advertising.
